Data protection
Privacy Policy
Notice: the English version of this document is the legally binding one. Translations are provided for convenience only.
Xeris Technologies ("we", "our" or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information when you interact with the XerisCoin protocol, Ari, the Xeris Computer, our website and associated services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect business contact information, node operator details, technical data and device permissions (such as camera access for the Xeris Wallet) related to your interaction with the Xeris testnet. Wallet addresses, transaction hashes and on-chain interactions are public and irrevocably stored on the ledger. When you buy a Xeris Computer, we collect your name, email address, phone number and shipping address to deliver it. Payments are handled by Stripe, and your card details never reach our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain and improve our triple consensus engine, to communicate with institutional partners, and to monitor the performance and security of our nodes and network infrastructure.
3. On-Chain Data
Data recorded on the Xeris blockchain cannot be modified or deleted. By transacting on the Xeris network, you acknowledge that your public interactions will remain visible permanently.
4. Data Security
We take security measures to protect your off-chain data. Transmitting data over the internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
5. Third-Party Services
Our services may integrate with third-party providers (e.g. infrastructure hosts, analytics providers). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of these third parties.
6. Camera and Device Permissions
The Xeris Wallet app requires camera permission to scan QR codes for wallet address entry and transaction signing. Camera data is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers or stored on-chain.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and security. We may also use analytical tools to monitor network performance and improve our protocol's user interface. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
8. Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data held off-chain. Data written to the Xeris blockchain is immutable and cannot be deleted.
9. Data Retention
We retain off-chain personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. Order records, including a backup copy kept with our hosting provider, are retained for as long as delivery, support, warranty and legal obligations require. On-chain transaction data persists indefinitely.
10. Contact Us
For questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, or to exercise your data rights, contact us at admin@xerisweb.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the protocol moves from testnet to mainnet. We will post any new version on this page.
